Derriaghy were once again given a lesson by Muckamore, as the title favourites inflicted a 7 wicket defeat on the Queensway men. Derriaghy have now played Muckamore twice and will be glad they dont have to face them again this season. Having also played Woodvale once, Derriaghy find themselves in the uncomfartable position of having won just 1 game this season.
Batting first Derriaghy mustered just 126, Craig Lewis again top scoring with a well played 34. There were starts for Faheem Suleman and Andy Kenny (14) as well as a solid opening stand of 23 between Stuart Hegarty and Adam Jamison, but in the end the total was terribly under par.
In response, Muckamore powered to 127 for 3 inside 23 overs. Suleman took 2-39 and Hewitt 1-18 while Wayne Hughes bowled well for 0-24 off 6 overs.
Derriaghy know they havent played well this year and have a big month coming up with games against Holywood, Cliftonville and Laurelvale, games they must target to start moving in the right direction.
