Derriaghy held their nerve in a relegation 8 pointer with Cliftonville to record a third win of the season and move clear of Cliftonville and CIYMS. Two Derriaghy stalwarts Ian Crothers and Stuart Hegarty were the heroes, with Crothers bowling exceptionally in taking 3-30 to help bowl Cliftonville out for 138. In reply Derriaghy reached 139 for 8, with Hegarty holding the innings together with 47. His partnership of 67 with skipper Andy Kenny (39) was the match winner. Although Derriaghy wobbled from 123 for 4, Rory Sheard held his nerve and struck a four through square leg to win the tie.
